Session 17: Getting to the City Report
General Summary
Alice wakes up first and goes shopping in town trying to procure seemingly unneeded equipment. Once getting some equipment that he didn't need to pay for, but instead got lent he meets back up with Archi and Magnar. Magnar in the meantime was eating some reindeer meat of a reindeer who seemed to be called Rudolph. It seemed to taste really well, after which he meets up with Archi. Archi also doesn't know about Rudolph. Once the group moves up the mountain and disables a few traps along the way, they come across a snow monster. After fighting a yeti, the group enters the cave they found up the mountain. Once inside Arne casts Aid spells to heal Magnar and himself up to full health again after which the group takes a long rest. Once the party wakes up they see a very dilapidated town and some sort of castle. Archi gets tasked to search for the treasure, after some time Magnar helps and points to the big castle type building and mentions that the treasure is most likely there. On inside the group sees a hooded figure sitting on a throne that is cut from the wall. After a small exchange with the figure it appears to be the white dragon Birgin the Winter Storm. Birgin the Winter Storm offers a deal to the group. They either 1; hand over the cloak and take the other treasure. 2; take the cloak and hand over the other treasure. 3; do nothing and die. Without thinking about it too much Arne decides for the group to take option 2. After telling this and getting permission to move down, Arne asks about the cloak. Birgin the Winter Storm explains that the Cloack is created in the shadowfell, can turn invisible for a certain amount of time. Either a Kenku or a Shader Kai can use it. The only thing is that there is a warning, if you use the abilities too much you will get sucked into the shadowfell permanently. Once the group heads down they go into the first closed treasure room and there they find the cloak. Arne decides to just wear the cloak as that's easier. Magnar heads to the other chamber. Inside there is a fire burning at the end, and there seem to be some silver and some pearls. Magnar carries about 1500 silver and like 10 pearls over which the group decides to hand over to Birgin the Winter Storm.
