Session 12: Underdark Shenanigans Report

General Summary

Magnar knocks on the groups door and comes prepared to go explore the cavern. The only thing left is provisions, so the group goes to the Eschbach shields to get some food to prepare. The usual morning crowd greets the group. After getting some food, the group heads down to the tower to head down into the crevasse.     Seadh is the one who heads down And confirms there's nothing at the bottom of the crevasse. The group decides to head along the ledge to the camp which leads to a tunnel which can go up and shows a bit of light coming down. Another path leads to a lava pit.     The group investigates the destroyed encampment that was visible earlier, and find nothing alive.   They examine the lava tube and find a 10 mile long chamber with ir up to 5 miles wide. A full bioluminescant giant mushroom forest in it.   Archie collects small mushrooms.   After some time spend they find some dead creatures and seemingly dead/blind creatures. After some time a group of black elves show up behind the group. The creatures called grimlocks. The black elves offer to guide the group, which the group accepts. They are now in the underdark.   They follow the tracks of creatures that attacked the Grimlocks.   After a few hours of traveling, the spores given off by the mushrooms are getting stronger.   At the centre of aon lold volcano is a huge amber sarcphagi with a smoky shape insode moving. It is in a humanoid shape but the amber seems solid. Ther appears a thick sticky black goo that leaked out of the bottom of the amber. It is surrounded by gruesome totems left by some creatures   The group is directed to one of the balkc elves who has been killed where they find they are being crawled upon by some hideous creatures.  They aer quickly surrounded bythe creatures who are hiding. Once the group kills a few creatures, the creatures call for a retreat.   These creatures turns out to be Troglodytes. The balck elves have encountered such creatures before, but none of them have had black coloured blood before. The black elves take their dead kin back to be buried and to try to find out what to do with the amber sarcphagus.   They refuse any help and say it is quicker & easier for the group to return the way they came.   Also they inform NINE who explains, and with the vision Archi had in the cavern),  that the amber sarcophagus is one of many containing  the remains of a god that was never born. It has been trapped since the begininng of the universe and the amber comes from the cosmic world tree. The gods like this are either quite insane and/or evil. And along with the dragons, giants, and the star gods are some of the most ancient creatures in exiistance, even compared to some of the other dimensions.   They inform the council too, and given a bit of cash each.
