Session 79: The Equniox Part 4

General Summary

They're on door 3....

Shan'tie casts Blight and Mystan does two breath weapons. But Magic Missle breaks concentration, and then the fireballs come. Mystan, Bubbles, and Shan'tie are dead outright. Virion Jhar is also unconcious and stable.

They slip into unconciousness. Virion tastes salt and iron, his senses filled with burning. Mystan, Bubbles, and Shan'tie go to their heavens and are all told they may rest now, but they will likely be asked to return. Virion is given teleportation circle sequence to Euralye, who gives him three Resurrection scrolls. With great difficulty, Virion uses one to resurrect Mystan, who willingly comes back. Mystan uses it on Bubbles, who isn't willing to return as warrior heaven is dope. Finally, Shan'tie refuses as well, exhausted.

Mystan turns to Virion and says, "I think they've both had enough. They chose to deny the spell."

"Both?"

"They're gone."

Tears don't really fall underwater.

That would be when Faeryn walks in, having burned Saltmarsh down. Mystan fills them in.

Virion decides to Disintegrate the Crab, who shakes it off and then immediately knocks Virion out with a water jet.

The party retreats back and Riptide gives them the rundown on what's happening; the Scourge of Hool helped take out the ships, despite their canons, but Serrano is leading hordes of skeletons in the dunes. Faeryn, Virion, and Mystan divvy up Bubbles' magic items, as is the Locatha way. They hold on to Shan'tie's items for a later date. All Shan'tie's gold goes to Virion given she owed him.

They choose to keep going underwater, predicting the Storm Crab will fall to allied forces by nightfall. In the morrow, they will take the rest of the tower.

They long rest.
