You wake up in a dark cell, newly reunited with the rest of the party. Timmy, however, is still missing. You can feel the dampness of the earth and the wetness of the dense soil that molds to your feet. Ahead of you is an old, rusty door that seems to be locked. You can hear faint voices through this door but you don't know what they are saying.
The bodies of the villagers quickly evaporate and when the smoke clears there lies on the ground a single, thick book. Both Freya and Redbeard pick it up simultaneously... CUE RIPPLE TRANSITION 400 years before Redbeard and Fraya met that fateful day in the tavern, an ominous and dreadful air permeated the land. East Kevas was relentlessly afflicted with the signs of a burgeoning holy war, and the leaders of the Great City of Clarence knew it. Their deities had long since been silent, but now the angelic presence of the Archangels could be felt by the great cities in all of Kevas. Something was beginning to happen. Then it did. The great fall of the angels was a long and great tragedy, with all but a handful who survived cursed to live in the mortal plane and the archangels who were able to stay, perished as the war between the great powers they served decimated the angelic plane. But it's said the gods saw what they did, and called a truce, in order to rebuild. But of the two primordial beings, one lied, and defeated the other absolutely whilst her back was turned. Weakened and starving, the being was locked away under the control of her counterpart and doomed to submit to tyranny. But she kept something on the mortal plane. Something that could restore her strength and give her victory. If only it could stay hidden until such a time as it could be retrieved.
