Session 10: Plague Doctors Report
General Summary
The party gathers themselves in Lowry and takes a small rest after the recent events. During which, Mortimer tasked the local blacksmith to melt down his current adamantine armor and instead convert it to be splint armor and more reinforced, costing him 200 gp. Additionally, Barack looked into the origins of the magic that has been tracking him and finds a way to track the caster when he chooses the time is right. Lacrosse spent the time attuning to the Land Shark and learning expertise with the weapon. While in Lowry, the party was recruited by a woman named Gwen to look into curing her daughter Lynne who was currently at the monastery in Froll. The party was promised 45 gp if they were to help or at least look at her daughter and the other people who were poisoned since she was told they knew how to cure it. The party left and investigated the crew who was poisoned with the Half-Death, aside from Lynne who was actually possessed by a banshee that then tried to fight the party. The party won however and was able to banish the spirit before it could harm anyone, though Barack did actually kill one of the infected in the heat of battle. After helping the people, they found that the curse seemed to be tied to the Banshee and after they were exorcised, the infected were cured completely. The party did not look into this but they easily could make an Arcana check or Medicine check to try and figure out why this may be. Afterwards, Mortimer was visited by his father who told him that if he truly does want his approval he needs to kill the figure heads of the Tribune who live in Medley, Stratum, and Ultribar. Additionally, acolytes from the Church of Solar accompanied by Bishop Jordan came out to the monastery after tracking the party. Jordan begged Lacrosse to come home and clear his name but said he will continue to buy the party time until he does. The party then went to Medley after Mortimer lied to Lacrosse saying that he wanted to further enchant his weapon. Lacrosse however saw through the lie and followed Mortimer to be sure that he would know what he is doing. After speaking with an enchantress, Mortimer told Barack that the Unseen needed them to take care of a problem and kill Duchess Red, the ruler of Medley and one of the heads of the Tribune. Barack agreed but Lacrosse said that he won't follow Mortimer down that road, in the hopes of avoiding trouble. After the dust settled and two fireballs were detonated, Mortimer stumbled out of the building covered in burns and wounds while Barack was flown out by a magic weapon known as The Dancing One, a flying sword that with mental training one could use in a fight.
