Session 16: Chaos Theory

General Summary

After defeating Omega, the party rests and collects themselves in the bar of the Unseen base. While resting, Lacrosse notices that Bruce, was stalking them and observing specifically Barack. After following him through the caves, Lacrosse is spotted by the scientist who then entered his lab and locked Lacrosse out. The party then decides that they need to find out what the researcher is doing behind closed doors and break into the lab.
After forcing themselves in the party accidentally sets of a trap releasing a small army of construct warriors who burst from the walls of the Unseen's hideout. Barack then charmed Bruce, convincing him to allow the fight to stay between the party and him, deactivating the soldiers and leaving the party to face Bruce and making it so they would need to stop the gate before it could fully activate.
The party successfully took out Bruce but not before Lacrosse was sent into death saving throws. In the midst of combat, the Chaos Gate began to activate and as he killed Bruce, Barack saw his family on the other side of the portal. He was left with a choice, knowing the portal would likely not reopen without someone on the other side with the knowledge to control it. Mortimer helped Lacrosse up from death's door and the two of them followed Barack.
The party found themselves in a far part of the outer planes where the great giant known as the All Father who was banished to the void where asteroids and debris would slowly cover his body leading to him becoming a small planet in the middle of the outer planes. Barack was offered a deal by the giant, saying that if he would open up his magical powers to the giant they could possibly reopen the gate and get him and his family to the Material Plane, but All Father would go as well. The party took the deal and entered back into the Material Plane before being knocked unconscious with no trace of the All Father after they woke back up.
