Session 3: Life in Lowry Report

General Summary

While recovering and gathering themselves after the events of the previous session, Barack and Mortimer both made some connections and some gold around the village of Lowry.   End Date: 6:7:784

Rewards Granted

Barack recieved a Lucky Ring from Jacob, the son of Jesus. Additionally the party earned a total of 175 gp that they would be able to use later on.

Missions/Quests Completed

Mortimer and Barack dispatched of a group of goblins as well as an owlbear that were attacking the Eastern Tower of Lowry, but the guards of the outpost were all killed. They also discovered that the owlbear was actually an undead monstrosity brought back to life by Elustria, the ex-paladin that the Grave Walkers were trying to ressurect on the island of Aqua. This lead to Barack and Mortimer invesitgating the Half-Death, a substance they were poisoned with by the Grave Walkers.   While in town, the two tried to compete in a stone lift competition against the reigning champions, an orc named Skar. The two were competing and almost instantly, Mortimer dropped his stone eliminating him from the competition. Eventually it came down to Barack, Skar, and another civilian, when Barack noticed a small pixie floating around trying to get the competitors to drop their stones so Skar could win. Barack ended up winning after exposing the cheaters and collected the prize of 25 gp.

Mortimer began to investigate the history of Moses, who little is known about besides that he was a member of the party that freed Ohrer. This resulted in him talking to Lyra, a former paladin that is the mother to Moses' child. She revealed that Moses was at the Bane of the Divine and actually stole a book that had detailed instructions on how to kill Ethos that is now locked in the Temple of Lowry. He also discovered that a man that called himself the Blade of Time was once on a mission to discover more about Moses. Unfortunately for Moses, the Blade died in Lowry after he was imprisoned for trying to kidnap the child of Moses.   Late one night while in Lowry, Barack noticed that Mortimer was walking out of the brothel. Curious what was happening, he followed Mortimer out to the woods where he was drawing sigils in the dirt. Barack crept up to Mortimer while he was carving the circles and realized he was awake. After Barack asked what he was doing, Mortimer rolled away from him as the sigils gave him a great boon of power. Barack talked the situation down after casting friends on Mortimer. Mortimer told Barack that he was not who he thought and that instead he was a no named being that was using the body of their friend. Barack helped him finish the ritual that he was preparing and in the morning Mortimer remembered nothing of the last nights events after he fell asleep.   In the morning Mortimer found a note telling him to go out to the East Woods and upon arriving there, Mortimer came face to face with his father who he watched die. Stone Cold told Mortimer that he was failing him and that if he truly wanted to avenge him he would already have tried to kill the Tribune. Mortimer found it suspicious that his father was alive and in the confusion found it hard to make any conclusions on if his dad was ressurected or if he never died in the first place.

Notes

The party found out that they were currently wanted criminals to Ultribar, with their faces plastered around the Scorchlands on wanted posters. They also discovered that their rival adventurers were all captured and will face trial in the next couple of days. Barack sent out a letter to go to Ultribar offering a deal for Mortimer and him to instead surrender Lacrosse for their freedom.
