Grabbing the Gear. Thursday 01/15/1930

General Summary

Paul Kelly's gang, the Five Points Boys, were sitting on a shipment of East Asia's finest export, which was supposed to go to Johnny 'Tightlips', through the entity of Sings' Laundromat and Tea House but had been *ahem* redirected.

The crew got a call from Paul Kelly that the shipment was being sat on at a warehouse that had probably been compromised by a rat. If they wanted to get it back they'd have to go in and get it themselves.

While he was on the phone, Joey saw a mysterious man staring at him from the road, right in through the doorway of his apartment building. By the time Joey tried to check him out, the man had hopped in a car and disappeared. Joey made sure to mention it to the others, as he couldn't quite work out what to do about it himself.

The lads went down to Peck Slip Road, near the Brooklyn Bridge docks, and noticed a pretty obvious cop car parked outside the warehouse, probably doing surveillance. After Joey and Matches did some reconnaissance and determined there was definitely something fishy, Joey decided to hop on the roof for a look, while Johnny went to check out the Gumshoe warming up the car seat.

Just as Johnny had effectively distracted the detective in the car (read: put a gun to his head, tied him up with his own belt and locked him in the trunk of his own car...), Joey dived through the rooftop window of the warehouse to 'see what was going on down there'. What was going on was four of NYPD's finest and a young detective fresh out of boot camp, waiting for any suspicious individuals to show up.

What ensued was a hasty and less than organised getaway, as the partially blinded Joey followed the fleet-footed Matches back to the Crimson Fury, whereupon an exchange of gunfire was exchanged between the pursuing cops and the steady hand of an individual who asked to remain nameless. Fortunately for all, there were no casualties, except for the possible demise of one red Model A Ford, the aforementioned Crimson Fury.

The whereabouts of the shopment is so far undetermined.......
