Session 20: Road Trip Day one

General Summary

The party started off the session heading away from Baldur’s Gate with the caravan. Nivek made started to getting to know the merchant who hired him Werond Torohar, an unassuming female human teamster who is apparently quite experienced hearing animals between cities. Rahl lounged on his horse also making conversation in his own laissez-faire manner while complaining how boring it was not having anyone to fight. Jameak traveled nearby keeping an eye out for Rahl in case he got into any trouble.

After the uneventful day with a few stops to feed and water the horses and mules the caravan sets up camp. Nivek settles down around a campfire to get to know some of the people and Rahl waits for an opportunity to start a food fight.

Around the fire they observe various people and one, a halfling introducing himself as Losvius, greets the party and makes small talk getting to know Nivek. He then leaves for a while and visits a wagon that has been unfolded to make a traveling bar ran by an affable seeming bartender.

Around this point Rahl throws a chunk of stale bread at a group surrounding a nearby campfire where he recognized some cult members. When it hits the cultist Rahl points to the person sitting next to him as if the other person threw it. The cultist heads over and perhaps to his surprise it happens to be Larion, the person who met them at the tavern in Baldur's gate and helped them gather some info on the caravans heading out. Rahl and him chatted for a bit, but there didn't end up being a fight at this time.

At one point later in the evening he notices Nivek's pendant and offers to buy it off him, but Nivek refuses saying that it is an important memento to him.

Later the next morning, Nivek wakes to find the Pendant missing and immediately heads to find Losvius assuming him to have lifted it. Losvius denies this and seems sincere enough that Nivek doesn't push the issue with him. He also offers to help keep an eye out for it and pass on any information he finds regarding it.

We end the session with Nivek intending to do what he can to find out who stole the pendant and to get it back.
