Welcome to the island of Obojima, a land of whimsy and wonder.   Set in the enchanting world of Wisteria, Obojima is a peaceful island dotted with strange ruins and forgotten technology from a long-lost age. Life here is simple and serene—most folks are farmers, ranchers, merchants, or traders. Villages bustle with life, home to common folk like humans, elves, frog-like beings called Nakudama, and the mysterious spirit-touched Dara. Other peoples—like Tieflings, Dragonborn, Orcs, Gnomes, Dwarves, and Halflings—also walk these lands, though they are rare, often said to carry distant traces of the spirit world in their blood.   Legends have it that long ago the Spirit World was wide open. Open to all to freely come and go as they please. The communities of the Material Realm and the Spirit Realm lived together in harmony.   However, that peace did not last long.   Legends speak of a dark time when a demon named Mordegon rose from the Spirit Realm, seeking to conquer both his world and ours. As the realms trembled and Morgegon's corruption spread throughout the Material Realm, a band of heroes emerged from the humble village of Okiri. Led by the legendary hero, Erdrick, they fought bravely and sealed Mordegon away—but at a great cost. Erdrick and his companions used the Sword of Light to seal Mordegon vanished along with him, and the portals between the worlds were sealed. Since then, peace has reigned and the Sword of Light rests in the great tree of life which hangs in the sky, Yggdrasil.   Until now.   For reasons of your own, you find yourself in Okiri Village—a quiet farming community, said to be the birthplace of the great hero Erdrick himself. Perhaps you were born here, or maybe you’re just passing through. But lately, the ground has begun to tremble with strange earthquakes. Whispers stir. Old stories are being told again.   And in this sleepy village where legends were once born... a new story is about to begin—with you.   Creator's note: The world iand its contents are heavily inspired by the sourcebook Obojima: Tales from the Tall Grass by 1985 games, Dragon Quest XI Echoes of an Elusive Age, and others.
