Session 10: Wintersplinter Cometh Report

General Summary

two heroes lie unconcious, while Wintersplinter continues the destruction of the winery. However, before the entity can critical damage the complex, it is brought down with an onslought of arrows. The group recover the seed gem from the ashes of Wintersplinter and make their way back to the Martikov camp. After a tense moment, the group informs Davian and his family of Strahd request, while returning the gem to him in an act of good faith. In return, Davian admits the truth behind his family, as a group of wereravens, whose lycanthropy is passed down throughout generations and is controled through rigour and intimate rituals.
Davians order, The Keepers of the Feather, offer their services as a spy network that uses the ravens of barovia to obtain information to help them care for the people of barovia. Once they helped adventurers trapped by the fog, but it has been a significantly amount of time since they have trusted a group with their secret, and openly defied Strahd. The conversation with Davain yeilds answer to many questions regarding Strahd and the lands around them. After explaining Madame Eva's card reading, Davian directs the group to Argynvostholt, the site of a dragon worshipping order who long ago faced Strahd on the battlefield and were defeated. Their leader was said to have weilded a flaming sword. With the wine shipement secured, and new allies obtained, the group set out for Vallaki to deliver the wine before the Festival of the Blazing Sun begins.
