Frontier Session 27
General Summary
Session 27: 13-07-2025
Hiding in the brush nearby the mountain pass they see The Guardian and hear the wardrums of the lizard creatures in the distance. Aelfynn notices a lizard with the head of a raptor dressed in shamanistic robes walk up alone and stands in a small clearing in from of their hiding place. She tells the rest of the party and Jock immediately rushes out ignoring the shaman's calls to stop, jumping onto it's scaly faces and stunning it.
Suicu and Glee call for him to stop and let the shaman speak. Dropping off and letting the shaman explain it tells them it's a worshiper of the Great Old One or the Great Devourer which are the names the lizard folk are using for the Guardian. It tells them the Serpents and their God has enslaved it with these golden bands and the High Priest of Zehir is controlling it from their city commanding it to guard the mountain pass.
Aelfynn convinces it that they're worshipers of the Great Old One as well and asks it to escort them to the city. It agrees to help them as it believes they will release the Great Old and will show them a safe way into the city. It tries to give them its name but an animalistic sound comes out something like Gooruumnsh.
Sending the Ravager back to the guard tower to await further orders. The party sets out on foot to the City of Serpents with the lizard shaman.
Settling down to rest a few kilometers away from the city to infiltrate the city at night. Aelfynn takes first watch and looks up while communing with her sword seeing large snake creature in the distance. Instinctively she summons a bubble of darkness to engulf them and hide them from view. But the snake creature seems to be able to see through it and charges ahead with it's two armored soldiers in tow.
A fight breaks out and Suicu and Aelfynn fire eldritch bolts of power out to the creatures. Glee and Jock charge out towards the creatures leaving the darkness to attack the serpent creatures head-on. The two armored guards attack and their cobra shaped helmets glow with a strange red light. Their greatswords emitting a dark energy when they strike at them. However they're struck by lightning bolts and eldritch blasts. They die in this barrage of magic and the greatsword of Glee.
The large serpent creature gets grappled by Jock and held in place as the others attack it with magic and swords. It writhes and fights by crushing Jock and Suicu with it's large constrictor body even crushing itself while it buries its fangs in Jock. Distracted by fighting the other party members Aelfynn steps out of her darkness and slices it body in half with her magical blade. Killing it by piercing its head and letting the magic of her blade freeze it solid.
After the fight the shaman comes out of hiding and they search through the bodies finding some medallions and gold. They seem to be slightly magical and used as holy symbols for these warriors and priests.
