Frontier Session 18 Report

General Summary

Session 18: 23-02-2025

During the preparations of the attack on the Imperial forces Suicu is on top of the ornithopter which is patrolling the area. He follows it all the way to the southern guard tower and spies on the pilots going into the encampment. They stay in the tower overnight so Suicu decides to rest and wait until morning. He sees the pilots come out and memorises the way they start the machine.

While he flies back to the camp Hiron notices a flying book outside of his window. He runs after it and sees it flies into the barracks into the room set aside for the Elven knight and the wizard girl. Trying to go in he gets blocked by the knight and told to leave. Later when the party gathers together they discuss what to do about the spying wizard. They decide to notify Jazra and confront the wizard.

Suicu uses his magic to turn invisible and sneaks into the room. He sees the wizard is just in the middle of casting a Sending spell and grabs her wrist to disrupt the spell casting. She yelps and gets panicked explaining to him shes just trying to contact her father while Hiron jumps in through the window. The knight tries to separate them but Suicu releases the wizard seeing she is truly frightened and young. She explains that she is looking for an artifact, a golden tiara with some magical powers, and also has studied the floating block at Brightwater. It is called Bruunstone used by the ancient civilisations before the Scarring in Arcane Airships and even flying cities. The block in town is enough to create a small flying ship.

Meanwhile Jock arrives with the Thri-Kreen and the Orcs. He sees new Docks constructed in the Orc camp and construction is underway to fortify the encampment and have housing ready for when the rest of the tribes arrive. He leads the warriors and the mystics through the forest to the rebel base at the old plantation.

The party plans an attack on the guard tower to remove the guard presence there and capture the ornithopter. They create a plan and approach the camp the day after they see the ornithopter and they're sure it has left. Deploying the Thri-Kreen hunters underground to ambush the soldiers while Jock and Suicu launch their first attack. Quickly taking out the guards at the gates they move to the ones on top of the tower while the Thri-Kreen take care of the soldiers in the courtyard. After the short battle they notice the rest of the tower is empty. They wait a couple of days until the ornithopter returns and manage to mind control one pilot to show Hiron and Glee how to operate the flying machine.
