Heir of the Crimson King (Mythic Trait, 1/Day). if Valentine is reduced to 0 hit points his hit points and current hit point total are immediately set to set to 210 (20d8 + 120), he Regains all Legendary Resistance and Actions and Enters an Empowered State for 1 minute or Until he uses Blood Moons Ire. While in this form all of his attacks are Empowered as described in there description and his ever beating heart regains and additional 10 hit Points even if it is Pierced.
Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If valentine fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead.
Limited Flight (1/hour). As a bonus action, Valentine begins to fly, gaining a fly (hover) speed of 30 feet for up to 10 minutes. If he is in mid air at the end of this duration, Valentine descends at a rate of 15 feet per round until he lands.
Ever Beating Heart. Valentine regains 30 hit points at the start of each of his turns unless his heart is pierced by a magic weapon. If Valentine is reduced to 0 hit points or his body is destroyed while his heart is pierced, he remains dead. However, his heart cannot be destroyed, and his body will Start to regenerate from it at the start of his turn if the weapon is ever removed. To remove a weapon piercing his heart, Valentine must use an action to make a Strength check (DC equal to half the damage dealt by the attack that pierced his heart, rounded down). This action provokes opportunity attacks.
To target his heart, a creature must declare it before attacking. The attack is made with disadvantage that cannot be negated. If his heart is pierced, his regeneration stops until the weapon is removed.
Impale. When Valentine hits a Large or smaller creature with The Impaler, he can attempt to impale them. The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC = 21) or become impaled by the blade. While impaled, the creature's movement speed is reduced to 0, and it cannot cast spells with verbal components (as it is silenced by the blades innate magic). The creature can attempt to free itself as an action by making a Strength check against the same DC, which provokes opportunity attacks from creatures within reach.
Spellcasting. Valentine is a 12th-level spellcaster. His spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 20, +12 to hit with spell attacks). He has the following spells prepared:
Cantrips (at-will): acid splash, chill touch, dancing lights, fire bolt, prestidigitation, sword burst
1st level (4 slots): disguise self, magic missile, zephyr strike
2nd level (3 slots): counterspell, misty step, scorching ray
3rd level (3 slots): elemental weapon, fireball, lightning bolt, vampiric touch
4th level (3 slots): banishment, dimension door, summon greater demon
5th level (2 slots): dawn, enervation, flame strike
6th level (1 slot): disintegrate, soul cage
Multiattack (Humanoid Form Only). Valentine makes three weapon attacks. Alternatively, he makes one weapon attack and casts one cantrip that has a casting time of 1 action.
The Impaler (Humanoid or Wolf Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +16 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 24 (4d6+ 10) Slashing or Piercing damage. While Empowered Attacks made with the Blade in hand deal and additional 9 (2d8) Force damage. As the blade is wreathed in Red Burning Spellflame.
Unarmed Strike (Humanoid Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 12 (1d8 + 7) Slashing, Bludgeoning or Piercing damage. Instead of dealing damage, Valentine can grapple the target (escape DC 20). While Empowered the damage dealt by this attack is 21 (3d8 + 7) instead and a creature must always make a Strength saving throw on a hit or be grappled by valentine.
Bite (Wolf or Humanoid Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature grappled by Valentine . Hit: 10 (1d6 + 7) piercing damage plus 21 (6d6) necrotic damage. The target's hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the necrotic damage taken, and Valentine regains hit points equal to that amount. The reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0. While Empowered valentine can choose to reduce the received healing by halve and reset the duration of his empowered state.
Realm Piercer (1/Day). Valentine drives The Impaler into reality itself, piercing the fabric between planes. This ability allows him to create a rift similar to the gate spell, opening a portal to a location he is familiar with within the same plane or to another plane he has previously visited. However, this rift does not forcibly pull creatures through it, nor can it be used to summon specific creatures. The portal remains open for 1 minute or until he dismiss it as an action.
Blood Moons Ire (Empowered Only). While on the ground, Valentine takes to the air, flying up to 30 feet without provoking opportunity attacks, as he channels the power within his blood. For the next round, any damage dealt to him is reduced to one-quarter of its original value. This ability activates after one round has passed, at the beginning of his turn.
At activation, day spontaneously turns to night, and a third broken moon appears in the sky above him, tearing through any existing sky cover. When this occurs, all living creatures within 100 feet of Valentine must make a DC 22 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 55 (10d10) necrotic damage and becomes marked by the Blood Moon’s Ire. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage and is not marked. Valentine heals an amount equal to the necrotic damage rolled. Additionally, he gains a permanent flying speed of 40 feet and can hover. He also regains all expended spell slots up to 4th level.
For the next hour, or until Valentine is slain, the Blood Moon hangs in the sky above Faeliath. At the beginning of each of Valentine’s turns, all creatures marked by the Blood Moon’s Ire take 2d10 necrotic damage, and Valentine heals for half of the total damage dealt by this effect. Creature's may Redo their saving throw at the end of each of their Turns to end the Ire early. Activating this ability ends Valentine’s Empowered state.
Shapechanger. Valentine can use his Bonus action to polymorph into a swarm of bats, a Dire wolf or back into his true form. While in bat or wolf form, Valentine can’t speak. In bat form, his walking speed is 5 feet, and he has a flying speed of 30 feet. In wolf form, his walking speed is 40 feet. His statistics, other than his size and speed, are unchanged. Anything he is wearing transforms with him, but nothing he is carrying does. He reverts to his true form if he dies.
Imbue Will. Valentine targets a weapon he can see within 60 feet that is not being worn or carried by another creature. The weapon animates, becoming an extension of his will. While animated, the weapon acts on Valentine’s initiative. It has a movement speed of 40 feet and uses Valentine’s Charisma modifier for its attack and damage rolls. The weapon can make two attacks on its turn and has one reaction, which it can use in the following ways:
- Opportunity Attack. If a creature provokes an opportunity attack from the weapon and is hit, its movement speed is reduced to 0 until the end of its turn.
- Intercept. The weapon can use its reaction to intercept an attack targeting Valentine or one of his allies within its reach, imposing disadvantage on the attack roll. If the attack is intercepted, the weapon immediately makes a counterattack against the attacker.
If the animated weapon is struck by an attack, Valentine must make a Charisma saving throw with a DC equal to half the damage dealt (rounded down). On a failure, the weapon is dissipated and falls inert. If the struck weapon is The Impaler (Valentine’s slender greatsword), he has advantage on this saving throw.
Vailed Step. Valentine Throws his Cloak up and teleports to and Unoccupied Space within 90 feet that he can see. this counts as casting a 3rd level spell for the poupous of Counterspells and anti magic Effects. While Empowered Valentine can choose to instead throw the cloak around him in a violent Swirl causing all creatures within 5 feet of the place of his disappearance and appearance to take 2d6 force damage on a failed dc 20 Dex Saving throw.
Parry and Repost. when a Creature targets him with a melee attack valentine my add 3 to his ac and make an attack against the attacking creature. this can only be used if he is currently Holding his Slender greatsword or if it is animated and within 5 feet of him.
Valentine can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Valentine regains spent legendary actions at the start of his turn.
Impossible Speed. Valentine moves up to a point within 70 feet with a burst of unnatural speed. He can then make one melee weapon attack against a creature within reach at the end of this movement. This movement and attack do not provoke reactions.
Detect. Valentine makes a Wisdom (Perception) check with advantage. Due to his unnaturally acute senses, he can detect invisible creatures as well as creatures on other parallel planes, such as the Ethereal Plane.
Call Blade. valentine uses his Imbue Will ability on a weapon that is not being worn or carried within 60 feet of him.
Valentine van Tepes is a living legend. The eldest son of Dracula, he is counted among the greatest swordsmen the world has ever produced. His skill with the blade is said to defy mortal comprehension, honed over centuries of study, battle, and unrelenting discipline. For most of his long life, he stood undefeated by any challenger, until the day he met the one opponent who could match and surpass his mastery.
That opponent was the legendary mage and swordswoman Vaalerie Rhuul. In their fateful duel, she bested him, forcing Valentine to acknowledge her superior technique. Yet defeat did not break him. Instead, he adapted, incorporating her fighting style into his own until no other could threaten him again. To this day, he carries both the memory of that loss and the respect he holds for Vaalerie’s unmatched prowess.
Little is truly known about Valentine’s relationship with his father. Some whisper of bitter rivalry, while others claim it was a cold alliance forged out of necessity. What is known is that, in the end, Valentine aided in the slaying of Dracula. Whether out of vengeance, duty, or a deeper grief remains a secret held only within his immortal heart.
Now an outcast by choice and reputation, Valentine wanders the realms as a travelling scholar and silent observer. But his endless search is driven not merely by curiosity or the pursuit of knowledge. Long ago, he lost both his beloved wife and his cherished daughter. Their deaths left an unhealing wound in his soul, and he scours the world – and the planes beyond – in search of a way to bring them back.
To most, he is a mysterious swordsman, a vampire lord of impossible grace and silent sorrow. But to those who know his true story, he is a man condemned by his undying love, forever driven by the hope that, someday, he will hold his family again
