The Healing Flame of Pelor
Wondrous Item
Rare
Description.
This gold-silver lantern holds a small golden flame blessed by Pelor, god of the Sun and healing. It hangs from an ornate chain in the heart of a Pelorian cathedral, often suspended above a grand infirmary or sanctuary. The flame radiates divine warmth that strengthens the body's natural healing.
Radiant Healing.
The lantern sheds
bright light in a 60-foot radius and
dim light for an additional 60 feet.
While within the bright light any living creature (not undead or constructs) regains 1 hit point every hour spent in it.
Pelor's grace. When a Cleric of Pelor offers a heartfelt prayer to the flame during a moment of great need, they may call upon the god’s direct intervention.
As an
action, the Cleric may roll
1d20 + their cleric level + the number of injured creatures currently within the lantern’s light.
If the total is
25 or higher, a burst of radiant light emerges from the small flame instantly
stabilizing all dying creatures within the light. They also gain
+10AC untill they regain consciousness even if their body leaves the light.
If the miracle
succeeds, the flame’s divine link weakens temporarily. Pelor’s Grace
cannot be used again for 7 days, as the flame regathers the Daughter of Life's essence.
A Cleric who attempts this prayer and
fails may not attempt it again for
24 hours.
Sanctified Rest. If a creature completes a short rest within the lantern’s bright light, it may treat all Hit Dice spent as if they rolled the maximum value.
Eternal Flame. The Healing Flame cannot be extinguished by non-divine means and is unaffected by magical darkness. The flame dims for 1 hour if placed in an area desecrated by evil divine magic.
