Psychic drain enables the psionicist to tap into the
personal, psychic energy of other people to
augment his own psionic strength. Up to six
people can be tapped at one time.
Each subject, who is often called a host, must first
be asleep. Next, the psionicist must make contact
with the person's mind. Then the host makes a Constitution saving
throw. If he fails, the host falls into a trance which
lasts 4 hours. The character can be awakened with
some difficulty before then, but he'll be groggy
and disoriented for another hour. If host is awakened early he still gains the exsaustion increase but the pool does not fill with his energy instead it dissipates into the dreamscape.
While the host is in the trance, the psionicist
siphons psychic energy. Just as a vampire draws
blood to grow strong, the psionicist drains level of
exhaustion. He can drain one level of exhaustion
for 6 PSP. The psionicist does not gain this PSP directly from the
host. Instead it creates a pool of energy in the mindscape. The
psionicist must remain within range of the hosts for the 4 hours meditaiting in order to form this pool of temporary PSP. This pool will be available to the telepath for the next 72 hours
Intensify:
For every two additonal PSP used 1 additional level of exsaustion is drained.
